Every Day Autumn Makeup Look

“I’M SO GLAD WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THERE ARE OCTOBERS.”

– ANNE OF GREEN GABLES

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you my everyday autumnal makeup routine. This is something perfect for school or work, and you can take it from day to evening just by changing your lipstick.

The first thing I’m going to start off with is the face. I am using my custom blend foundation, my custom blend concealer, and my Motives Long-Wear Liquid Concealer to even out my skin and spot treat any of my blemishes. I then went in with my Pur Cosmetics Cameo 2-in-1 Contour Stick to contour my cheeks, my forehead, and my nose. For cream highlight, I am using none other than the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal to give me a lit-from-within glow.

For powder, I used the Motives Luminous Loose Powder in Light to slightly bake my chin, nose, and under eye area to lock that into place. I then went in with the shade medium and set the rest of my face with a big fluffy brush. I then did my brows with the Motives Essential Brows Kit, which I really love as it has the perfect shades for my brows.

For the eyes, I primed with my Motives Eye Base and blended that out. I am using the Lorac Pro Palette, one of my go-to palettes for fall. I’m going to start off by fluffing white and cream all over the eyes from lid to brow bone. For the transition, I blended taupe into my crease, focusing on diffusing the color throughout the crease. I then took sable and focused this more on the outter half of the crease and a bit on the lid. I then mixed espresso and black and pressed this against the lash line. When there was barely anything left on the brush, I blended until there were no harsh lines.

I took nude on my finger and tapped this on the inner half of the lid to open up the eyes. For eyeliner, I took the Motives Kohl Liner in coffee and applied that to the waterline. I took espresso and black again to press it against the lower lash line, very close to the lashes and blended it out with sable. I took a clean fluffy brush to blend the edges so they looked clean and streamline before highlighting my brow bone with nude and applying my Motives Fiber Lush Mascara.

To finish off the face, I took the Motives Pressed Bronzer in Miami Glow and warmed up my cheek and forehead area. As for blush, I used the BareMinerals shade in Morning and used the Motives Shimmer Powder in Starshine to highlight the cheekbones, tip of the nose, and above the arch of the brow. For lips, I used my BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bo$$ to finish it off.

That’s it for this tutorial guys! I hope you guys enjoyed it and found it easy to do and easy to wear. Next week, a Fashion Look Book will be coming your way! I’m super excited for it. I love you all!

xx Sung

September Favorites

I FIND BEAUTY IN THINGS THAT ARE ODD AND IMPERFECT- THEY ARE MUCH MORE INTERESTING.

-MARC JACOBS

Hello everyone! As happy as I am that October is on the way, I am hanging on tight and screaming, “How is this year going by so fast?!” It’s insane how there is only three more months in 2017. Anyways, I’m going to kick off my favorites by starting off with the weather. Finally, we’ve gotten out of the 100’s and 90’s and we’re in the 80’s and 70’s! Okay, I know this is literally the lamest favorite ever, but still, thank God the unbearable heat is over.

IMG_1904

The next favorite I have are three of the Motives Pressed Shadows. One of them is one I’ve mentioned before, but I wanted to mention it again. The first is Bedroom Eyes, which is a subtle purple taupe with gold reflects and is perfect for a natural eye makeup look or a smokey intense look. The next two shades are no longer available, but I will link a similar one to their name. One is Catwalk (similar one: Tripped Out) which is a deep olive green with gold reflect and perfect for autumnal looks and really makes brown eyes pop. The last one is Rapture (similar one: Lit) which is a bright copper with orange tons, again, perfect for autumnal looks and makes any eye color stand out.

IMG_1912

I was giving someone a make over at the beginning of the month and gave her a choice of palettes I could use on her. She chose the Motives I Do Palette.  Once I was finished with the look on her I was obsessed and wondered why I hadn’t picked up this palette recently. I’ve been using it on a regular basis now and am back in love with it. It contains 3 matte eyeshadows, 2 shimmer shadows, a highlight, a bronzer/contour shade, a blush, and a mini kohl liner. It is definitely worth every penny that was spent on it.

IMG_1918

I am now going to mention these brushes from Mikasa Beauty. I never mention brushes, but I am in absolute love with these brushes. They are excellent quality and the brush hairs are so soft. I have the F100 which is their powder brush, the F300 which is their foundation brush, the F120 which is their tapered contour brush (I use it to highlight the face), the E320 which is their tapered blending brush, and the E230, which is their Eye Shader Brush.

I also have their lemon drop, which is their version of a beauty sponge and I really life it as well! It’s not too firm or hard, and when you dampen it, it is so soft and bouncy. My Mom bought their full set and loves them and I love all of those as well. I bought the Mikasa 5 Piece Complexion Brush Set  which is $65 with a value of $77. (Use code SUNGEUNROSE25 to get 25% off your entire order!)

Screen Shot 2017-09-16 at 2.10.30 PM

Also from Mikasa Beauty is their CND Vinylux Weekly Polish in #110 Dark Lava. It is the most perfect autumnal shade for the nails and is such a deep and rich berry shade. I saw it when I was looking through their nail polishes and I knew that I had to get this one. I love it so much and it goes with everything.

Lastly for my favorites are these ear cuffs that I actually made for myself. I made two ear cuffs in gold and I also took apart a really heavy ear cuff I never wore and made a small one to wear, and I love them! I’ve been wearing these ear cuffs every single day since I made them in the beginning of the month. They add a little bit of edge without being too editorial. They’re so perfect and I just love them.

Alrighty guys, that’s it for this month’s favorites! I hope you all had the best September ever and I can’t wait for October!!! I love you all!

Every Day Makeup Routine

ELEGANCE IS THE ONLY BEAUTY THAT NEVER FADES.

-Audrey Hepburn

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you the makeup tutorial I’ve been doing since July. It’s a glowing, natural look that you could wear for work or school. I like that it gives your skin that extra boost, but doesn’t look overpowered by the makeup. Let’s get started!

FACE

This is a no-foundation makeup look, so we’re going straight in with concealer. I’m using my custom blend concealer, but you can use any concealer you know and love. I’m going to apply the concealer to any redness, dark circles, or spots that I have going on. For under my eyes I used the Motives Liquid Long-Wear Concealer, which is also one of my favorites for blemishes.

Because I want a natural, all-over bronzy look, I’m using the Motives for LaLa Antony Liquid Foundation in golden as my cream bronzer. Motives also has a Shimmer Stick in the shade Island Glow, which will probably be a lot easier to use for your cream bronzer.

For cream highlight, I’m mixing two of Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors in both Pearl and Moonstone. I love the glow of these liquid highlights and it brings a gorgeous glow to the skin.

For powder, I’m using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in the shade Radiant Light, and I’m going to set my t-zone and my under eye area. We will set the cream bronzer with the shade Dim Light and the cream highlight with the shade Incandescent Light and Becca’s pressed highlight in the shade Moonstone on my cheekbones as well. For blush, I used the Tarte blush in Partyyy.

EYES & BROWS

For brows, I’m using my favorite combination of the BareMinerals Brow Powder and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel as usual. However, most days when I wear this look, I’ll just set my brows with the brow gel and not put any powder in them.

Because I was filming other videos the day I filmed this, I did my eye makeup, which I’ll leave the shades I used in the next line. Usually, I’ll just do a bone color all over from lid to brow bone and I’ll apply my Motives Fiber Lush Mascara. To be honest though, sometimes I’m lazy and I don’t even do mascara.

For my eye makeup, I used Motives Pressed Shadow in Bedroom Eyes all over the lid, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in the shade Dim Light in my crease, and the Motives Kohl Liner in Coffee.

LIPS

For lips, you can put on some chapped stick or lip gloss, but I decided to use my favorite lipstick of all time on my lips. It’s the Motives Moisture Rich Lipstick in the shade Incognito, and as the name suggests, it is a rich color that adds moisture to your lips.

That’s it for this makeup tutorial! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and I’ll see you guys next time!

All My Love,

xx Sung

August Favorites | 2017

You Go Girl.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my monthly favorites! For some reason, I have a lot of products this month to get through, so let’s start before this intro gets a bit too long!

The first products are makeup products, and I’m going to try and get through the bullet points and reasons why I love them. The first thing I will talk about is my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Paaarty. Yes, it’s spelled like that. It is a beautiful nude blush and goes with every makeup look, from natural every day to smokey nighttime looks. For someone who isn’t super into blushes, I have been wearing this blush every day that I’ve been wearing makeup.

The second product I will talk about is the Becca Glow On The Go kit in Opal, and I love both of these products. I wore them both nonstop throughout August. It has a rosy undertone and look stunning on the eyes, cheekbones, and lips. It gives you such a lit from within glow and I live for it.

The next products are all lip products I’ve been loving, and that would be the Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit, which is the most perfect nude I’ve ever worn and looks so perfect and natural, and is also one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks I’ve tried.

The second lip product is the Motives All Day Stay Liquid Mattes in Guava and for someone who doesn’t normally gravitate towards baby pink, I really like this shade and wear it pretty often. Again, it’s beautiful and comfortable to wear, is long lasting, and doesn’t flake off my lips.

The last one is a lipgloss, the Motives for LaLa Mineral Lip Shine in Celeb. On the website, it looks gritty and glittery, but in person, it’s not at all. It’s a lightly pigmented gloss and feels moisturizing on the lips. If you’re in the market for a new gloss, I highly recommend checking out this one.

Next up is brow products, and it was pointed out to me that despite the fact I mention these brow products basically every single makeup tutorial I ever do, I’ve never put them in a favorites video. Now, I am! I absolutely love my beloved BareMinerals Brow Powder. It lasts forever, #1, and #2, it’s a color that suits my brows perfectly; not too ashy, not too warm. And the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, oh my goodness, is amazing. Jaclyn Hill said it best: it’s gorilla glue for your brows.

Moving on to Fashion pieces I’ve really been loving, I have been wearing this gold bracelet every day since I got back from summer intensive and I just love it. My dad got it for me and for whatever reason I’ve really been loving it recently. Also, gold jewelry in general as well, but in particular, my bracelet.

Shoes I’ve been loving are these sandals from Aldo which I got for my birthday, and they are so versatile, so timeless, and they go with everything, from a short summer dress to a business appropriate outfit. They’re clean, sleek, and timeless and I have been wearing pretty much anytime I have to leave my house.

The next two items are fashion pieces which were given to me by a lovely woman I go to church with, so thank you! This dress I’ve been wearing all throughout the summer, and I just had to put it into a favorites because it really is one of my summer staple pieces this year. Also, this white lace top is stunning. I can wear it with a pair of trousers, jeans, or a skirt and it looks lovely no matter how you wear it. I really love this piece and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it quite a bit in the future.

That’s it for my August faves! I know this was a bit of a long one, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway! I love you all, and I’ll see you all soon!

xoxo

Sunset Halo Smokey Eye & Glossy Red Lip

Hello Everyone!

Today I am bringing you this very dramatic red and copper smokey eye. I think this eyeshadow look is great if you have an evening event or a dramatic makeup look perfect for the transition from summer to autumn. I love wearing golds and reds on my eyes because it really makes the eyes stand out. Let’s get started!

I’m going to start off with my eyes first today to eliminate any chances of my face makeup getting completely ruined. For the first shade, I went in with this extremely old Lorac palette which is no longer available and went in with the bright coral shade, but you can also go in with an orange shade as well (another option I love here). I went into my Motives Elements Color Box and layered the shade Native right on top of that coral shade. With a more precise brush, we’re going into the shade Bordeaux and applying this heavily in the outter corner and inner corner blowing it out in the crease, doing our best to keep the center of the lid free from the dark shadows.

Next I went into my custom blend shadow in Diamond White and placed this only on the center of the lid. Any bright white shade or pigment will do, just be sure to spritz your brush with some water or a setting spray. Then I’ll go back with the shade Bordeaux and blend out the edges so there are no harsh lines. Then I went into my Lorac Pro Palette cuz it’s the only palette I have with gold shadows, and I took both the color Gold & Lt. Bronze and pressed this on top of that white shade on the center of the lid. The white shade underneath basically helps the gold shadow pop a bit more than if you didn’t have it. Again, I’ll blend out the edges with Bordeaux. Finally, we will apply some eyeliner (I used the Tarte Waterproof Gel Liner) to the top lash line.

I moved onto the face before finishing up the eyes and I used my favorite Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation and mixed it with my darker La La Liquid Foundation to customize my perfect shade and blended this all over my face. I went in with a concealer as well (which is not available on the site, but I’ll link my favorite here) and I also powdered my face with the Motives Luminous Loose Powder.

I did my brows using the BareMinerals Brow Powder and the ABH Clear Brow Gel in the same way I always do. I used a cream colored shadow stick to use as a cream color for my waterline (BIG MISTAKE!!!) and my eyes started watering and glowing red after I was done filming, so I’ll link my favorite Motives Kohl Liner instead and I can guarantee it will be far more pleasant to wear throughout the day.

For the lower lash line, I pressed Bordeaux right up against the lower lash line and smoked it out with that coral/orange shade. I then used my favorite Motives Fiber Lush Mascara and applied this to my lashes. For contour, I used the bronzer in the Motives I Do Palette, but I should’ve used the shade Native from my Elements Palette (money saving hack!). For blush, I used the shade Glee from BareMinerals (they don’t have it anymore, here’s a different blush). For highlight, I used Vows from the I Do Palette (I’ll link a similar single highlighting shade here). I popped the highlight right on the inner corners of the eyes, on the cheekbones, and on the tip of the nose.

For lips, I used the Motives All Day Stay Liquid Sticks in the shade Seduction and it actually feels like a melted down lipstick. It’s a stunningly opaque color and is glossy and vibrant, perfect for a dramatic look such as this.

There we have it! I absolutely love this look and think it is so great for a number of occasions. I hope you guys enjoyed it! I love you all, and I’ll see you soon!

Morning Routine | Summer Edition

Hello everyone!
I am so excited to bring you all my morning routine. It doesn’t really change season to season, so this routine is pretty standard for every single day. For the summer, I am away and living in LA for a month for my summer intensive training, so rather than starting work right away, I’ll be leaving for my intensive classes. Anyways, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s begin!

When I first wake up in the morning, it’s usually at 5:30 or 6:00 A.M. and I’ll start by shutting off my alarm and oddly the first thing I do is check my emails. I don’t know why. After shutting off my phone, I’ll turn on some worship music and devote an hour to spending time with God and reading the bible. At the moment I have been reading a lot of Daniel and Matthew, however I’ve also been reading a proverb daily. Starting my day with Jesus is so important and I find a huge difference in my mood and perspective if I don’t spend time with Him.

Around 7:00 A.M. I’ll make my bed and head into the kitchen to make my vitamin cocktail, if you will. I use the Isotonix products and they are so great. My morning cocktail includes the Multi-Vitamin, OPC-3, Calcium Plus, and Advanced B-Complex to give me some extra energy. Once I chug that down, I will make some breakfast and a pot of coffee. This particular day I made cheesy-scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. I would’ve done avocado and put the eggs on top, but I ran out of avocado and I was really sad about it.

IMG_1645

After breakfast, I’ll go into the bathroom and do my skincare routine. I use the Skintelligence line and mix it with the Lumiere Di Vie Serum Concentrate, which helps reduce acne, the Lumiere Di Vie Eye Cream, and the Timeless Prescription Anti-Blemish Lotion, which I mentioned in my June Favorites.

After I take a quick shower and get my hair out of the way, I will sit down and do my makeup. I applied my custom blend foundation (link to my second favorite foundation), my Motives Creme Concealer in Peach to my blemishes, my LaLa Liquid Foundation under my cheekbones for a glowy-bronzed look, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector to my cheekbones, the Motives Luminous Loose Powder to my t-zone, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette to set my bronzer and highlight, the Motives Pressed Blush to the apples of my cheeks, the Pure Cosmetics Nude Palette (literally the same exact as the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette) to my eyes, the Motives Fiber Lush Mascara to my lashes, the Motives Kohl Liner in my waterline, my BareMinerals Brow Powder and the ABH Clear Brow Gel, and my BareMinerals Gen Nude Liquid Lip Color in Boss to my lips.

I will then take a look at my fragrances and today I picked one of my favorite every-day scents, the Philosophy Pure Grace scent, which smells like fresh morning air mixed with clean laundry. It smells so lovely.

I will then get dressed, and this was my outfit of choice. I will also put on my accessories of choice and then I’m good to go! As I said earlier, I will either start school or work (depending on the day) or, as I am a part of a summer intensive trainer, will leave for training.

That’s it! I hope you guys enjoyed this blogpost. If you would like to watch the routine, the video is linked down below! I love you guys very much, and I hope you have a beautiful rest of your week!

July Favorites 2017

Hello Everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful July and are enjoying your summer! How has it been so far? Let me know down in the comment section! Once again, it is time for me to share with you my July favorites.

I’m going to start off with skincare since I’ve been wearing almost no makeup for the last month. I’ve been switching between different skincare routines and products, but I think I’ve finally found the one for me. I’ve been using the Skintelligence Skincare Line  and my skin has cleared out so much. I’ve also been loving the Timeless Prescription Anti Blemish Lotion  which I mentioned in last month’s June Favorites.

Next I’ll talk about the makeup that I’ve been wearing when I do wear makeup. I’ll start off with the eyeshadow that I got for my birthday and love every single time I wear it. It is the Motives Pressed Shadow in the shade Bedroom Eyes. It’s a gorgeous shimmer, more foiled than not, but it is stunning. It is perfect for a sexy smokey eye and also for all over the lid on less glamorous days.

The next makeup item is a highlighter, and it is GORGEOUS!!! It is the Motives Shimmer Powder in the shade Starshine, which is a golden highlighter.  You guys know that I love highlights, especially ones with golden undertones. This highlight will be gorgeous for every skin tone and color, and I am in love with it.

The last makeup item is the Motives Moisture Rich Lipstick in the shade Incognito. It is a stunning nude. It is such a perfect color, not too brown, but not too pink, not too deep, but not too light. I have been wearing it every single day since I got it on my birthday.

Last thing I’m going to mention is a perfume my friend got me for my birthday. It is the Pacifica Persian Rose Roller Ball Perfume which, at first, I wasn’t sure about since rose scented fragrances tend to not mix with my body chemistry, but it is an amazing scent and lasts so long on my body, and that’s coming from a girl who’s dancing about six hours daily. It’s a beautiful scent. Thanks Gabe, you have great taste in scents.

And that is it for my June Favorites! I hope you guys enjoyed it, and please, leave me a comment down below letting me know what your favorite things have been recently! I love you guys, and I’ll see you guys soon!

xoxo

June Favorites

Hello Everyone!
First off, I wanna say thanks for all the get well wishes you’ve been sending! I’ve been sick with a cold for the past five days (SMH). I’m getting better, so that’s a plus!!! I hope you guys have had a great June!

First thing I’m going to mention is the Motives Elements Color Box which we all know I love. I’ve mentioned this palette before but I have been using this pretty much non-stop throughout the month of June and I’ll be traveling with this when I leave in July. It’s a versatile palette, and I love that some of these shades can double as a translucent setting powder, a bronzer or contour shade, or a highlight. You’ve got everything for a natural every day look to a nighttime sultry smokey eye.

Next is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette  which, I’m just going to say it, is my favorite face palette of all time. You have a setting powder, a bronzer, and a highlighter and I use these products on a regular basis. This particular month I’ve been loving this for the eyes and face alike and I just love the way it makes my skin look. This palette will also be finding its way into my makeup travel bag.

Another thing I have been loving for a natural glow factor is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl.  I don’t mix this in with my foundation anymore like I used to as my skin is much more oily nowadays, but I do apply this on the high points of my cheekbones, a little above the point of my brows, and on the tip of my nose. It adds this summery, healthy glow to the skin and makes it just look beautiful. This particular color is perfect for all skin tones as well, so if you are a very fair skinned person looking for a gorgeous highlight, I highly recommend this one.

You guys know that I’ve had a weird relationship with this powder, but now that I am getting a bit tanner as the summer goes on, the Motives Luminous Loose Powder in Medium has been perfect for setting my face. It’s not making me look too orange which I appreciate and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless with it’s coverage enhancer in the formula. I highly recommend this setting powder (if you are more light to medium, I would go with translucent or light, and medium to dark, I would go with medium.).

I’m sure you guys know this was coming because I cannot stop raving about it in other videos and on social media, it’s the Motives Fiber Lush Mascara. I am a mascara snob and I have tried out quite a few mascaras (both drugstore and high end) and I can say that this particular mascara is hands down the best mascara I have ever used. It makes your lashes look fan-freaking-tastic. I love the formula, it’s not too clumpy but not too thin, it doesn’t crumble and fall out all over your face, and it’s perfect. It’s perfect. Go get it. You need it in your life.

These next two products are my custom blend eyeshadows in the shades Copper Sunset and Diamond White. If you’d like to see these in action and more detail on them, visit my other website www.motivesbysungeunrose.wordpress.com.

A nail polish I’ve been loving is a fun and flirty shade from the Motives Nail Lacquers in Prom Queen. It’s really opaque even with the red, gold, and silver micro-glitters within the formula. It’s a stunning nail polish and is really fun for the summer.

Lastly is a skincare item that I’ve been using for about a week now, but it works like magic. If you have acne prone skin or struggle with blemishes, this is for you. This is the Timeless Prescription Anti-Blemish Lotion. It reduces your blemishes from bright and bold to basically gone literally overnight. It has helped my skin so much, as my skin has been going absolutely crazy due to the change in season. It’s the coolest thing. You don’t shake it, and it’s a clear liquid with a pink sediment (but it doesn’t feel like sand) at the bottom, and you dip a cotton swab into it and place it on your blemish. It’s the weirdest consistency and it doesn’t feel gritty or anything like that. It’s freaking awesome.

Alrighty, I hope you guys enjoyed this monthly favorites! Let me know some of your favorites down in the comment section below. I love you all very, very much and I’ll see you in my next post!
