June Favorites

Hello Everyone!
First off, I wanna say thanks for all the get well wishes you’ve been sending! I’ve been sick with a cold for the past five days (SMH). I’m getting better, so that’s a plus!!! I hope you guys have had a great June!

First thing I’m going to mention is the Motives Elements Color Box which we all know I love. I’ve mentioned this palette before but I have been using this pretty much non-stop throughout the month of June and I’ll be traveling with this when I leave in July. It’s a versatile palette, and I love that some of these shades can double as a translucent setting powder, a bronzer or contour shade, or a highlight. You’ve got everything for a natural every day look to a nighttime sultry smokey eye.

Next is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette  which, I’m just going to say it, is my favorite face palette of all time. You have a setting powder, a bronzer, and a highlighter and I use these products on a regular basis. This particular month I’ve been loving this for the eyes and face alike and I just love the way it makes my skin look. This palette will also be finding its way into my makeup travel bag.

Another thing I have been loving for a natural glow factor is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl.  I don’t mix this in with my foundation anymore like I used to as my skin is much more oily nowadays, but I do apply this on the high points of my cheekbones, a little above the point of my brows, and on the tip of my nose. It adds this summery, healthy glow to the skin and makes it just look beautiful. This particular color is perfect for all skin tones as well, so if you are a very fair skinned person looking for a gorgeous highlight, I highly recommend this one.

You guys know that I’ve had a weird relationship with this powder, but now that I am getting a bit tanner as the summer goes on, the Motives Luminous Loose Powder in Medium has been perfect for setting my face. It’s not making me look too orange which I appreciate and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless with it’s coverage enhancer in the formula. I highly recommend this setting powder (if you are more light to medium, I would go with translucent or light, and medium to dark, I would go with medium.).

I’m sure you guys know this was coming because I cannot stop raving about it in other videos and on social media, it’s the Motives Fiber Lush Mascara. I am a mascara snob and I have tried out quite a few mascaras (both drugstore and high end) and I can say that this particular mascara is hands down the best mascara I have ever used. It makes your lashes look fan-freaking-tastic. I love the formula, it’s not too clumpy but not too thin, it doesn’t crumble and fall out all over your face, and it’s perfect. It’s perfect. Go get it. You need it in your life.

These next two products are my custom blend eyeshadows in the shades Copper Sunset and Diamond White. If you’d like to see these in action and more detail on them, visit my other website www.motivesbysungeunrose.wordpress.com.

A nail polish I’ve been loving is a fun and flirty shade from the Motives Nail Lacquers in Prom Queen. It’s really opaque even with the red, gold, and silver micro-glitters within the formula. It’s a stunning nail polish and is really fun for the summer.

Lastly is a skincare item that I’ve been using for about a week now, but it works like magic. If you have acne prone skin or struggle with blemishes, this is for you. This is the Timeless Prescription Anti-Blemish Lotion. It reduces your blemishes from bright and bold to basically gone literally overnight. It has helped my skin so much, as my skin has been going absolutely crazy due to the change in season. It’s the coolest thing. You don’t shake it, and it’s a clear liquid with a pink sediment (but it doesn’t feel like sand) at the bottom, and you dip a cotton swab into it and place it on your blemish. It’s the weirdest consistency and it doesn’t feel gritty or anything like that. It’s freaking awesome.

Alrighty, I hope you guys enjoyed this monthly favorites! Let me know some of your favorites down in the comment section below. I love you all very, very much and I’ll see you in my next post!

Get Ready With Me! | What I’m Doing This Summer + Life Update

Hey guys! I’m really excited to share what I’m doing this summer with you all!

June is a bit crazy for me, as I’m not going to be home pretty much at all in July. This month I am pre-filming a lot of videos… 18 to be exact. Yes, 18. I’ve got some exciting things coming your way, so keep an eye out!

I’ve been accepted into the Los Angeles Ballet Academy Summer Intensive, so in July, I’ll be gone and living in LA with family for an entire month. Because it is pretty much all day for five days a week, I obviously will not have time to film or write posts or anything like that. However, I am going to try and Vlog a whole bunch for you guys to include you in what I’m doing. I’m really excited about getting my butt kicked this summer!

As far as the blog scheduling is concerned, in June I’ll be uploading my normal Wednesday and Friday videos and posts, but in July, I’ll only be posting on Wednesdays, unless I Vlog, which will end up going up whenever.

I’m really excited to share this summer with you all! I love you guys lots, and I’ll see you guys later!

Bronze Goddess Makeup Tutorial

Hey guys!

Bronzy makeup is personally my favorite for evening events and special occasions for the summertime. I thought I’d share with you one of my go-to looks for summer!

For the base, I used my Custom Blend Foundation, however other times I will use the Motives Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation. I also used the It Cosmetics Waterproof Concealer to brighten my under-eyes, color correct, and prime my nose. Everything breaks up on my nose, so priming prevents that. To set my face, I’m using the Motives Luminous Loose Powder and I set my under eyes with the Birch shade from the Motives Elements Color Box.

For the eyes, I’m using the Covergirl Tru-Naked Goldens Palette, but I love the Present by Scott Barnes for Motives eyeshadows for a golden-bronze look. I’ll start with the lightest shade in the palette and apply that as a base. Now I’m going to use both the Motives Luxe Creme Shadows in Gold Dust and Brown sugar, which is completely not necessary to use both. Use one or the other. I then apply the matte brown shade and apply this to the crease. Then I spritzed my brush with the Motives Ten Years Younger Setting Spray and I’m using the chocolatey-bronze shade on the outer 3/4’s of my eye. Then I take the gold shade and apply this to the inner corners of the eye. I blend this out with a flat brush to create a gradient effect.

For eyeliner, I used the Rimmel London eyeliner in Sparkling Emerald (they don’t carry it anymore, so I’ll link the Motives Kohl Liner in Green Envy) on the lower lash line to add a pop of color. I blend that out with the sponge applicator on the lower lash line. I used two different mascaras, but I’m going to tell you to use the Motives Fiber Lush Mascara because it is genuinely my most favorite mascara.

For the rest of the face, I’m using the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette (this apparently doesn’t exist anymore, I’m so sorry guys! I suck at this… lolz… here’s the link to a bronzer, blusher, and highlighter similar to the ones I used!) and I’m using the contour, the blush, and the highlight. For the lips, I’m going to use the BareMinerals Gen Nude Liquid Lipcolors in the shade Boss.

This concludes my versatile professional/evening makeup tutorial! I hope you guys enjoy it, and if you guys recreate this look, be sure to tweet or Instagram me a photo! I love you guys so much, and I’ll see you in my next video!

Hello Beautiful People!

It’s that time again where I tell you about the things I’ve been loving for this month. Also, raise your hands in the comment section below if you’re ready for the summer!!!

I’m going to start off with foundations. The first is my Motives Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation and I’ve been reaching for this a lot recently because I’ve been needing more of a full coverage foundation. My skin has been freaking out lately so I’m looking to cover those acne scars and spots! The other foundation is the Motives for La La Liquid Foundation. I’ve been loving the idea of cream bronzer, so I’ve been using this foundation since it’s about six shades too dark for me. It makes my bronzer look so flawless and natural and glowing and I’m obsessed.

I’ve mentioned these before and I’m going to mention them again. The Motives Luxe Creme Shadows in Gold Dust and Brown Sugar  are my life savers. I’ve been super busy recently, so if I wanted a bit of color on the eyes, I throw on these shadows, blend it out with a synthetic flat brush or a fluffy crease brush, throw on some mascara and I’m good to go. They’re so quick and easy to use.

New to my collection is the Motives Pressed Bronzer in Miami Glow. Miami Glow is definitely a bit too light and I will not be able to use this in the summertime as I get really dark during the summer months. However, it is a beautiful bronzer with a very slight shimmer, adding the perfect amount of glow to your face. If you have fair skin, you will be in love with this bronzer.

There are two nail polishes that I’ve been using for the last few months and I don’t know why it is taking me so long to tell you guys about them. They are the Motives Nail Laquers in the shades Vintage and Fairy Tale. The thing I love about the Motives Nail Laquers is the fact that they dry evenly very quickly. They are incredibly opaque and I only use one coat and I can run out the door in about 7 minutes. I particularly love these shades because they are neutral and delicate, just the way I like my nails.

As far as hair is concerned, I’ve been loving styling my hair in big voluminous beach waves, and I’ve been using the Batiste Dry Shampoo  to add volume and texture. I don’t wash my hair too often either, and it does a great job soaking up the oils in my hair. I mainly spray the ends of my hair rather than my actual head due to the fact that it does leave a white cast, but if you’re willing to take the time to rub it out, I’d recommend this to you.

The fragrance I’ve been using non-stop is the Ralph Lauren Romance Refreshing Body Mist . I used to not like this, but this year I’ve started liking much more deep, fresh, floral scents. Recently I’ve been spraying this all over and it is long lasting and smells incredible.

That’s it for my monthly favorites! I hope you’ve enjoyed my May Favorites. Let me know some of your favorites down below in the comment section! I love you guys!
