Sweet 16

My 16 birthday was truly one of the best days of my life. I woke up that morning with so many text messages and messages on my social media. The highlight of birthday wishes were the videos people took the time to take.

For most of the day, I chilled out and watched netflix and read one of my new favorite books, Friend Me (by Cathy Hopkins). I also edited my birthday video, so I got a little bit of work done. My mom gave me the whole day off, which was awesome.

After a full day of barely doing anything, my older sister came over and helped decorate and set up. By the way, my dad planned this Cake & Ice Cream Night, so thanks Dad!

My best friend showed up early to help set up and he was a massive help. Others began trickling in, and soon enough, I had a full house of people. A lot of the people were from church and a couple were from outside church.

I was so blessed by the generosity of everyone who came to celebrate me. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry, but when my Dad announced that he put together a video of everyone who videoed their birthday wishes, I couldn’t help it.

Family and Friends (that includes you readers!), I just want to take this time to tell you guys thank you. You guys make life worth living, and I am so blessed to have such kind, loving, strong, and inspirational people in my life. You guys are just so amazing. You  support me in everything I do, and I am so grateful for the strong support system that I have.

Thank you Mom and Dad for raising me to become the young woman I am today. You guys support me in more ways than one, and I am so appreciative. You guys make my life more interesting, and I know that every day that comes, I can handle anything because I have been given a solid foundation given by the two most amazing, caring, loving, strong, and inspirational parents I could ever imagine. Thank you for pouring your hearts out to see me walk into my destiny. I love you guys so much.
